Attending a islamic gathering while in menstruation

Are women allowed to attend the islamic gatherings while in menstruation especially if the gathering is in Masjid.

Wa alaikumussalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

If the Islamic gathering is not in a Masjid, then she can attend inspite of the menstruation.

But if the Islamic gathering is in a Masjid, then nearly all the scholars understand from the Quran and Hadith that she is not allowed to stay in the Masjid while menstruating - as for passing by without staying in, then it is fine according to an understanding of some scholars based on the hadith that the Prophet (s) asked Aisha to bring him the prayer mat from Masjid, she thought she could not due to her being in menstruation but the Prophet (s) clarified saying her menses are not in her hand.

Given this all, if there is an Islamic gathering in the Masjid, then it is best if they put a loudspeaker somewhere outside the praying hall of the Masjid so women in Menstrual bleeding can attend that outside and listen to the lecture.
