Very enlightening article, especially the saying of al-Hafidh ibn Abdil Barr and Shaykh ibn Uthaimeen (may Allah have mercy on them both).

من سلك طريقا يلتمس فيه علما سهل الله له به طريقا إلى الجنة
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's mercy and peace be upon him) said,
"Whoever treads a path, seeking (religious) knowledge therein, Allah makes easy for him a path to Paradise." (related by Muslim)
