Assalamualikum,

If few people reach masjid after the juma prayer got over, are they supposed to offer salathul Zuhr? If yes, should that salatul Zuhr be in congregation or indivudually?

Jazakallah.

Assalamu alaikum

If few people missed Salatul Jumuah, then they should pray the Zuhr prayer when they reach the place of jumu'ah prayer - they should not pray Friday prayer again in a second jama'ah.

Do they pray the Zuhr in congregation or alone?  One view of the scholars is that if people came late and missed the congregation prayer they should not as a habit form a second congregation in a Masjid where there is a proper Imam regularly, in order to avoid misunderstandings, bad feelings etc etc.  This opinion I understand to be the stronger one.  Based on this, the late comers should pray Zuhr alone and not in congregation.  This is also what I suggest.

However, if someone was following the other opinion of the scholars, then they may pray Zuhr in congregation but still it is better to pray alone in order to avoid confusion that may arise with a second congregation after the Friday congregation.  This confusion could be avoided or minimised if it is done at a slightly different place.

Allah knows best.
