Assalamualaikum..
Sheikh..

Recently, some brothers and sisters have been asking question on emulsifier, and there is so many type of emulsifier that is describe in a code form, for instance the popular one is E-471. My question is would the ruling of using the emulsifier be similar to the renet in cheese (as explained by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi in one of his article I posted)? I don't really know how the emulsifier work and how much is used in a product and whether it changes its form. So, I hope you can clarify the matter.

Jazakallah Khair..

Wa alaikumusalaam wa rahmatullah

Dear Abu Ayyash

Thanks for the question, however, at this point, I have no comments on issue of emulsifiers etc.  So far I haven not had sufficient time to find out the details of emulsifiers and related food additives and the earliest I expect to shed some light on the issue is after about a year, Allah willing (due to my very busy schedule at the moment).

Wassalam
