Parents pay zakat-ul-fitr on behalf of you

Assalamualaikum,

What is the ruling of my parents giving out zakat-ul-fitr overseas on behalf of their children (parents and children do not currently live on the same land)? The parents would have the intention, and the children would have the same intention (that his/her zakat-ul-fitr is going to be paid by his/her parents).

Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

If the children are earning and not dependents on parents, if there are poor people where the children are living, then it is better for children to give zakatul fitr to poor where they are living. 

Otherwise it is fine for parents to give zakatul fitr to the poor where they are on behalf of all the children. 

Even if there are poor where children living etc still it is not haram for parents to give zakatul fitr in their place on behalf of children and all make the intention for it.
